Psychosocial Assessment and Counseling
Course Description
This course provides learners with essential knowledge and practical skills in conducting psychosocial assessments and delivering effective counseling services. Participants will explore the foundations of psychosocial support, master core counseling techniques, and learn to apply culturally sensitive assessment tools for individuals, families, and communities facing emotional, psychological, or social challenges.
Through real-world case studies, role plays, and supervised practice, students will gain confidence in identifying psychosocial needs, developing intervention plans, and supporting diverse populations including children, survivors of trauma, persons with disabilities, and displaced individuals. The course emphasizes ethical practice, confidentiality, and the importance of referral pathways and coordinated care.
Applied assignments and practical sessions are designed to assess learners’ understanding of assessment tools, counseling strategies, and case management procedures. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass the course and receive a certificate of completion.
